DIY foaming handwash

To make your own handwash you will need:

  • foaming soap dispenser
  • liquid castile soap
  • water
  • essential oils (optional)

It’s super easy.  Just add 1 parts castile soap and 8 parts water into your dispenser.  Add a few drops of your favorite essential oil if you wish.  Tighten the lid and turn upside down a few times to mix.  Voila!

I added 1/8th of a cup of castile soap to 1 cup of water and around 10 drops of lemongrass oil.

My dispenser was upcycled for me by Mr Imperfect by gluing a foam dispensing mechanism (from an old disposable foam dispensing bottle) into a mason jar.  The lid has rusted a little and needs a lick of paint – but I kind of like rust anyways.

Liquid castile soap is great to have around.  I use it to make body wash also and plan to make dishwashing detergent when ours runs out.  Next I need to find a local supplier where I can get castile soap refills.
